Project Prerna has transformed the lives of countless women in the project area. It empowered victims of domestic violence not only to escape their situation but also build future self-reliance and dignity in their lives. The project focused on developing the skills and self-respect of these women, enabling them to step beyond their traditional roles and show case their talents. The main purpose of the project is to socio economic upliftment of the victimized women through vocational and skill trainings, which would help the women to come out of the four walls of their house and to show their talents and abilities.
Many of these women belong to lower castes, lack of formal education, and depend on their husbands for basic needs. They juggle household chores, daily labour agriculture, and daily labour, agriculture, and often animal husbandry.
Project Prerna has brought significant positive changes by providing skill in various trades like tailoring, animal husbandry, and cot making. This equips women to find employment or start their own ventures. Additionally, project team promotes education for girls, challenging traditional gender roles. Workshop on government schemes, health, and hygiene, further empower these women to navigate the world with confidence.
By now, project Prerna team had trained 420 women and also girls in various skills, leading to 80% increase in their average income. This project was a beacon of hope, helping disadvantaged women to break free from the cycle of poverty violence and claim their rightful place in the society.
