Jeevandhara Samaj Kalyan Sanstha (JSKS), the social service unit of Jaipur Catholic Diocesan Social Work Centre is a voluntary organization which was established in the year 2006. It was inspired by Most Rev. Bishop Oswald Lewis, Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Jaipur and group of Priests who shared a common vision and dream that motivated them to come together and work on a people-centric model of development. It is registered under the Rajasthan Society’s Registration Act 1958 (Under Section 28). JSKS covered 12 districts of the state of Rajasthan. Since 2006 JSKS has been working towards empowerment of the marginalized sections of the society especially children, adolescent boys and girls, women and marginal farmers through a continuous process of awareness, conscientization, advocacy and collective actions for improving their educational, health and economic status. It upholds the culture, strengthens the integrity of a community based on the values of Truth, Justice, Freedom, Equality in which basic human rights where power, resources and the fruits of development are shared by all. Projects that JSKS undertaken in last three years and completed successfully were Ankur, Adhikar, Micro project for skill training for adolescent girls, Sakhi, Organization Structural Development, SHG formations, Shakti.
