Seven Month’s Report of BADLAW Project

With immense joy on 9th December 2018, the staff and the target groups gathered in one of our target villages named Salempur for the inaugural function of the new project envisioned as CHANGE. The program began at 12pm by lighting the lamp as a sign of invoking the presence of God in the midst of everyone followed by a melodious Bajan. Following this, Rev. Sr. Arul Mary FSJ, the General Coordinator of the project welcomed the gathering. As a sign of inaugurating the new project, the chief guest His Excellency the Bishop Oswald Lewis D.D,unveiled the plaque that depicted the new project. After this, the project coordinator of Sakhi,Mr. Rajender explained the details of our organization – brief presentation on the new project, its objectives,outputs,activities,management and the implementation. In his address to the gathering, His Excellency the Bishop, highlighted the importance of the CHANGE that the new project has to bring forth amidst the rural communities and was very appreciative of the project team that foresees the transformation in the lives of the vulnerable women-folk, particularly focusing on the adolescent girls in the villages by empowering them in Life-skills, Livelihood and Health awareness. He reiterated the importance of CHANGE with examples that could bring the desired transformation in the lives of the women-folk in the villages. He stated that the Change has to begin within ourselves only then we can see the changes in the society at large. Then the Bhagchand from NGO explained about the importance of health. Following this, the staff and their respective target villages was introduced to the target people. As conclusion, the Director of JSKS gave vote of thanks for the participants. All the staff and the representatives from the 15 target groups were present for this inaugural function.
