Maya Mahawar is a daughter of Ramesh Mahawar permanent resident of Doodli Talai Gao, Tehsils – Bassi, District-Jaipur, Rajasthan. She is Deaf and Dump from her birth, her father supported her so well that he never let her feel weak from her childhood. She has completed 5th standard of schooling but due to distance of school she couldn’t able to pursue further study. Mr. Ramesh is also unable to drop her every day at school because he is a labor worker has to support other family members. When Jeevandhara Samaj Kalyan Sanstha selected the Doodli talai gao for the Sakhi project for implementing the Beauty Culture in the area. Girls came and joined the training which made Maya excited to learn Beauty Culture with other girls.  She had shown her interest towards Beauty Culture course. The instructor informed the case to Project Animator and Coordinator, the Project Coordinator allowed Maya to join the course with other girls. Animators contacted Maya’s parents regarding Maya and came to know that Maya can’t talk and hear but she can read and can write her thoughts on paper. She has a very strong initiative to work to support her poor father, she was taking training and with the help of other girls she made notes and learned. The instructor said that she has a very good learning power, whatever taught in the training room she remembers all better than other girls. After the completion of Beauty Culture training, she has started practicing Beauty culture at home and in local area, started taking contract for bridal makeup and earning money and supporting her family.sakhi
