Situation before intervention:
Mostly People are not aware of Government schemes. Like Job Card which is basic document to get Work MNREGS. Manbhari Devi lives in a village called Jeerota Kalan in Dausa District. She and Her husband both are physical abnormal by birth they are very short in height. Due to short in height no one gives an employment to them. Illiteracy is another limitation for them to get job.
INTERVENTION
Manbhari devi came to touch of Mr.Moolchand who is a local community animator. He interacted with her in his routine visit of the village. In interaction she said her sad story of struggling for survival. He advised her to join SHG and she joined SHG in the village. In the SHG meeting she got all the information of Government schemes. Animator helped to get job card for both husband and wife.
Turning Point
Adhikar project team organized series of interactions and meetings with the claim holder and duty bearers to sensitize them on various schemes of Government. And Team of the project has facilitated the process of submitting job applications.
Challenges Faced
Government officers are not public friendly and not cooperative to support to people to get their job cards which is a basic document to avail the job of 100 days in a year under the MNREGS.
How the challenges were overcome
Repeatedly she visited Parchayst Office with animator to get the job card. Ultimately she got the card.
Present Status or Changed Situation
She got the job card along with her husband and both have got job in MNEREGS.
Message
Repeated efforts lead to success. Smt. Manbhari devi is a live example in front of us who got the success by repeated efforts. She has overcome on her physical limitations.
