BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT

19 villages are identified in Jamwa Ramgarh Block, Jaipur District of Rajasthan State for our intervention to bring about an integrated development of adolescent girls and women through socio-economic and political Empowerment.

Goal

IMPROVEMENT IN THE STANDARD OF LIVING THROUGH SUSTAINABLE LIVELIHOOD AND HEALTH STATUS

EXPECTED OUTCOME OF SHAKTHI PROJECT

Through the formation of Self Help Groups the 800 women will improve their family income by 20% (Rs.600/- per month) (Present monthly income is Rs.3000/-) by inculcating the habit of saving, Inter-loaning, bank linkage and income generating programme and livestock management and entitlements. The women, children (0-6 years of age) and adolescent girls of 2307 households will improve their health status by accessing the health services available for them. 50% of the target group of women will begin to get involved in local governance by participating and demanding their entitlements such as social security schemes, laborers’ insurance scheme &, health schemes etc. in Gram Sabha meetings. 30 untrained Midwives will be trained to conduct safe delivery in homes which will decrease mother and child mortality rate. The Cluster formation of SHGs will enable the SHGs to sustain themselves even after the Project period. Women of the target community will enjoy Gender equality through Gender sensitization programme.
