My name is Lali. I belong to Dhularavji village. My husband is a daily wage labourer. I have 5 children; 4 girls and I boy. We have no land of our own. My husband does not get work every day. With one person’s earning, it was difficult to manage the expenses of my family. Two years back, I came to know Shakti project. Shakti staff motivated the women of our village on the advantages of the Self Help group and I became member in Meera Self Help group in my village and our group started monthly saving and inter-loaning. Few months back, our group received loan Rs. 1,48,000/- from ICICI bank. I applied for loan to the group and got loan of Rs.20,000/- from SHG. I started a petty shop in my village and now I am earning Rs.3600/- per month. Apart from this, I was also trained as Pashu Sakhi. I got lot of knowledge on animal treatment and medicine kit from Shakti project. I started treating cattle in my village and started earning money. Monthly, I am able to earn something for the family. I am happy and thankful to Manos Unidas for its generous support for helping me and my village women to improve our life.
