Promote adolescent girl leaders and strengthen girl’s forum
Group formation and group work activities:
A total of 276 group meetings were conducted in 10 target villages. The Animators and Healthy Sakhi spoke on issues related to Domestic Violence, Menstruation and physical changes in the body, Food & Flag etc. Around 3270 no. of participated in the meetings. They were highly enthusiastic in attending these meetings as they themselves understood the importance of it. They realized that its ‘they’ who are going to benefit out of it and no one else. This self-realization paved way to successful meetings. The girls feel themselves to be fortunate to receive knowledge on such vital issues. Wall painting done in 4 villages of the project area on Rights and Cleanliness, health and education. Water pot for the birds and small creatures were installed in different places of the village.
Networking with school teachers’ and community based workers:
Coordination Meeting was conducted on 20th March 2018 at Govt. Seniour Secondary School Bhateri Village .The programme got started by welcome and a brief introductory speech. Then Mr. Rajendra Sharma took over the session where he explained on the ways by which we can boost the social and psychological development of Adolescent Girls. The CBW’s were reminded about their individual roles & responsbilities towards a wholistic development of Adolescent Girls. Finally, School Pricipal asked the Staff Members to cooperate with Sakhi Animators for the smooth running of the different programmes. They appreciated the activities of sakhi for Adolescent girls. He once again requested the Community based workers to keep supporting and cooperating with the Sakhi Animators and make sure that the activities are effectively implemented. 18 Community workers were presented in it.
