SUMMARY OF THE PROJECT SAMRIDHI

We are pleased to send to you the narrative report of Samridhi, Project NO: IND/73025. The 2nd phase of Shakti called Samridhi is going on very well in 19 villages of Jamwaramgarh Block of Jaipur District in Rajasthan State, India. One can notice the change in the ladies, in their overall standard of living and working. They are reaching to a level that they are able to find a living for themselves. We owe our gratitude to Manas Unidas for allowing us to up lift this simple and poor ladies. Today we have a Smart group of 727 ladies in 58 SHGs. The SHGs have formed into 4 Clusters and the Clusters are doing their job very well. Ladies have started small petty shops, Goat rearing, small business like fodder, candle, surf, phenyl and soap. Having received the training today the ladies make and use these things for themselves also. The literacy classes have helped the ladies to sign the documents writing their names. Training on rights and entitlements have helped them to know their rightful position in the family and society. Training the Pashu Sakhis have helped the villages to find a person in all 19 villages for an immediate medication of their animals when they fall sick. Livestock management training has helped every member of the SHG to have a clear idea about how to take care of their livestocks.

Celebrations on various occasion like Mahila Diwas, Christmas, Girl child day, Independents day and Republic day all contributed to a better outlook of the ladies and Girls towards life. The Exposure gave them an opportunity to see for themselves the many good things the ladies are doing elsewhere. The Insurance Programme is catching up that the ladies feel that their goats are safe and even if something happens to their livestock they are able to claim something from the Cluster. Training on record keeping and documentation has also brought out many ladies from the group to take up the responsibility of maintaining the records. The Change in the ladies are self-explanatory and this change is getting replicated to other ladies who do not belong to our groups.
